About The Position

The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain orderly merchandise presentations and overall store cleanliness. The role provides friendly, customized customer service, helps customers solve problems, and supports daily store operations. Associates also contribute to a positive, professional, and safe work environment and are expected to demonstrate the company’s Core Values in their decisions and interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Ability to demonstrate and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

Formal retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and provide customized customer service.
Greet customers, assist them throughout the store, answer pages and calls promptly, and thank customers as they leave.
Escalate customer complaints that cannot be handled to a member of management.
Maintain strong knowledge of products, store layout, and product locations.
Assist with receiving, checking in, stocking, and maintaining back-stock merchandise.
Help maintain the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area in a clean and orderly condition.
Help maintain the sales floor, including end caps and advertised merchandise.
Assist with merchandise resets, price changes, and special orders.
Ensure store signage is current.
Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
Communicate Store Support Center issues, and merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas, to the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
