About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate in Flooring, you welcome customers to Lowe’s and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, assist with selecting and locating merchandise, and help ensure their needs are met. You may occasionally load merchandise, organize and replenish products, process orders and deliveries, and guide customers through shopping or checkout. Duties may vary by department, and associates may cross-train in other store areas. This role does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions can include indoor and outdoor environments, varying and sometimes extreme weather, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, use team lifts when needed, and use powered equipment only with appropriate training or assistance.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
• Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; use team lifts starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
• Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
• Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
