Full Time - Sales Associate - Flooring - Closing
About The Position
The Sales Associate is a customer-facing role in Lowe’s Flooring department. The associate welcomes customers, listens to their needs, answers questions, helps them locate and select merchandise, and provides friendly, professional service. The role also includes organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, preparing products to meet customer needs, and occasionally helping load merchandise. Associates may be cross-trained in other store areas and guide customers through shopping or checkout. The position may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to minimally lift 25 pounds unassisted, or lift over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in the department based on customer needs.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Occasionally travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
