About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other responsibilities assigned by management. Work is expected to be professional, courteous, reliable, and results-oriented. A standard work week consists of 35 to 40 hours. The role involves helping customers identify and select suitable products, supporting store operations and merchandising, maintaining a positive sales environment, following company policies and safety standards, and helping protect inventory and accurately handle transactions. The associate may also support employee training and take charge of the store when necessary.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and coworkers.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and assist customers professionally, courteously, attentively, honestly, and responsively.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable help selecting suitable products.
Use fashion and trend knowledge to sell appropriate merchandise while meeting DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying loss or inconsistencies and help the store meet shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss-prevention and security procedures.
Follow point-of-sale procedures, balance money received during assigned work, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments and potential problems.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work in multiple stores in the assigned district as needed.
