About The Position
The Sales Associate supports store operations and delivers exceptional customer service while helping drive sales. The role includes keeping merchandise organized and stocked, assisting customers, processing transactions, and supporting receiving, merchandising, and store maintenance. Associates are expected to embrace Five Below’s values by putting customers first, working with passion, treating the business responsibly, setting high standards, and helping create a fun workplace. This seasonal overnight stock position may also perform store services such as ear piercing, balloon sales, and buy-online-pick-up-in-store, as needed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the General Manager based on store needs.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to stand for the entire shift.
- Ability to frequently operate a cash register.
- Ability to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5 to 10 feet.
- Ability to frequently ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
- Ability to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers and coworkers by telephone and face-to-face.
- Ability to frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.
Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures and company policies.
- Handle cash according to established procedures.
- Review and take responsibility for corporate communications applicable to the assigned area.
- Assist with merchandising procedures and maintain the assigned area.
- Set and maintain the Market Plan and other merchandise directives.
- Assist with the company data integrity process.
- Provide exceptional customer service through personal contact and interaction with customers.
- Assist with receiving and stocking, including unloading trucks, checking in shipments, staging merchandise, and packing out merchandise.
- Drive store sales, which may include performing services such as ear piercing, balloon sales, and buy-online-pick-up-in-store.
- Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
