About The Position

Curtis Lumber is seeking experienced, hardworking Sales Associates for its Paint, Plumbing, and Electrical departments. Associates maintain, clean, restock, and care for their departments and back storage areas. They assist customers in person, by phone, and electronically; handle incoming calls; and prepare quotes and orders for pickup or delivery. The role requires strong customer-service and sales skills to meet or exceed company sales and margin goals.

Requirements

• Experience in sales or relevant work, as the posting seeks experienced associates.
• Strong customer-service and sales skills.
• Comfort engaging in face-to-face, phone, and electronic sales.
• Ability to understand product features and the marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, clean, restock, and care for the Paint, Plumbing, and Electrical departments and back storage areas.
• Answer and intercept phone calls.
• Build quotes and orders for pickup or delivery.
• Assist customers with their needs in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Understand the marketplace and product features.
• Identify and address prospective customers’ needs.
• Use suggestive selling, upgrades, and add-on sales effectively.
• Use effective closing techniques.
• Follow up on quotes and convert quotes into orders.
• Share expertise with others.
• Work toward meeting or exceeding company sales and margin goals.
