About The Position

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors support both customer-facing work—such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, recommending solutions, and closing sales—and non-customer-facing work, including down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. They also promote store safety through safety walks, hazard reporting, and guidance on safe work and lifting practices. The supervisor works with leaders to identify approaches that support sales and service objectives, then shares those practices with the team to encourage customer-focused behavior and goal attainment. The role may require supervising associates in other departments, communicating concerns and updates to management, and occasionally opening or closing the store or serving as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel for meetings, training, or support of nearby stores may be needed.
