About The Position

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors handle customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales, along with non-customer-facing work such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. They also support store safety by conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and reinforcing safe work and lifting practices. The supervisor works with store leaders to identify approaches that meet sales and service objectives, then communicates best practices to the team to encourage customer-focused behavior and goal attainment. The role may require supervising associates in other departments, which calls for broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments. The supervisor communicates concerns, issues, praise, and morale updates to management. Individuals in this role may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
