Sales Associate (Full-Time) - Dover Mall, Dover, DE
About The Position
The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. The role is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a focus on results. Associates help customers identify and select suitable products, maintain DTLR standards, support store operations, and contribute to a neat and orderly sales environment. The position has a standard work week of 35 to 40 hours. The associate must have open availability and flexibility to meet customer and business needs, may be asked to work in multiple stores within the assigned district, and must have reliable transportation. The listed pay range is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour, and the role is eligible for the company 401(k) plan.
Requirements
- Previous retail or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and employees.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimum supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
- Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
- Basic fashion and style-trend knowledge and interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
- Ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
- Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships and provide professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive service.
- Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance in selecting products.
- Use basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
- Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
- Comply with and enforce company policies.
- Participate in service training and product programs.
- Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying loss or store inconsistencies to help achieve shrink goals at or below company plan.
- Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
- Support the training of employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
- Help minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss-prevention policies and security procedures.
- Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during assigned work, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
- Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information needed for effective management.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
