About The Position

The Sales Associate provides customer service in Lowe’s Electrical & Lighting department during closing hours. The associate welcomes customers, helps them find and select products and services for home improvement needs, answers questions, and assists throughout shopping or checkout. The role also involves handling and organizing merchandise, replenishing shelves, processing orders and deliveries, and occasionally loading merchandise. Associates may cross-train in other store areas and prepare department merchandise to meet customer needs. Duties may vary by department and hiring needs.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
• Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
• Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
• Military or veteran background.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Replenish shelves by identifying empty areas and down stocking merchandise.
• Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
• Prepare department merchandise to meet customer needs, such as cutting or bundling products or mixing paint.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
