About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and helps them locate and purchase merchandise. The role includes operating the cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty to support store profitability, customer satisfaction, and protection of Company assets.

The position involves frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and handling merchandise and equipment. It is performed in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise, occasional outdoor weather exposure, hazardous cleaning solutions, slippery floors, and possible exposure to extreme cold in freezers. Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds are required; occasional ladder climbing up to six feet may also be required.

Requirements

• Proficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.
• Knowledge of and willingness to comply with Company policies and procedures.
• Frequent walking and standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and handling merchandise and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to climb a step ladder up to six feet occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
• Operate the cash register and scanner, total purchases, collect payments, make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as needed.
• Follow Company merchandise processes, including unpacking, stocking, restocking, rotating merchandise, and building displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean the restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty.
