About The Position

The Sales Associate provides quality customer service and drives product sales. The associate is knowledgeable about products across store departments, follows the standards in the visual manual, and promotes sales and promotions. As an ambassador for the organization and brand, the associate creates a distinctive customer experience that helps acquire and retain customers. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and merchandise promotion. The position is part-time and reports to the Store Manager. It is based at the North Pointe Shopping Center in Durham, North Carolina, and pays $10.15 per hour. The role is non-exempt and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

0–2 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks accurately.
Team player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

Provide extraordinary customer service, including welcoming customers and assisting multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell the organization’s services and merchandise.
Set goals to improve selling skills and track sales.
Follow company policies, procedures, and standards in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
Assist with daily store operations, including work lists, cleanup lists, weekly shipments, and store maintenance.
Present merchandise to promote and sell goods, using guidance from the product knowledge manual.
Meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
Identify and communicate merchandise needs, pricing concerns, and operational problems to store management.
Attend store staff meetings and tech clinics.
Protect company assets and financial information by maintaining effective internal controls and informing management or appropriate officials of potential fraud risks.
