About The Position

L.L.Bean is hiring temporary, part-time Sales Associates for its Rivers Edge Retail Store in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sales Associates serve customers in the outdoor gear and apparel departments, represent the L.L.Bean brand, and provide genuine, high-quality service. The role involves engaging customers, using product knowledge and technology to support purchases, maintaining store presentation, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. Duties may change with business needs. The position promotes L.L.Bean’s outdoor heritage, integrity, service, respect, perseverance, healthy living, and commitment to belonging and sustainability. Associates are expected to help create a safe and welcoming workplace and customer experience.

Ability to stand and walk during a shift; talk or hear in person and by headset; occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and ramps; perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions; occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch; and lift 1 to 20 pounds.
Occasionally move and lift objects up to 40 pounds, using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

Approach and assist multiple customers with personal, genuine service.
Turn customer interactions into sales opportunities and build brand loyalty through exceptional service.
Work collaboratively and respectfully with team members and customers across differences.
Listen to customers, identify their needs, and resolve problems efficiently at the first point of contact.
Use POS systems, customer systems, and mobile devices to provide seamless omnichannel service.
Promote L.L.Bean-sponsored programs, including Outdoor Discovery School and the L.L.Bean Mastercard program.
Maintain an organized store, uphold visual and merchandising standards, and support store operations processes.
Collaborate with the team to achieve results, foster a positive work environment, and adapt to changing business needs.
Follow safety policies and procedures to help maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
