About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service to customers and help them find products and services for home improvement projects. You listen to customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, and may occasionally load products. You also organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries, and prepare products to meet customer needs. Associates are assigned to a department based on hiring needs and skillsets, and may cross-train in other areas of the store. The role may involve work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and exposure to noise or moving equipment. Regular travel is not required, although occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
Requirements
- Six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to help provide customer service.
- Prepare merchandise for customers, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
