About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other responsibilities assigned by management. Work is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach. The standard work week is a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours. The associate helps customers identify and select suitable products, demonstrates basic fashion and trend knowledge, and contributes to an orderly sales environment. The position also supports shipment processing, restocking, pricing, employee training, loss prevention, operational compliance, safety, and business standards. The associate may be asked to take charge of the store when necessary and to work in multiple stores within the assigned district.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work under minimum supervision.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and provide professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive service.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance with product selection.
Use fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while meeting DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring issues related to loss or inconsistencies and help achieve shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss-prevention policies and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during the assignment, and work with management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Take charge of the store when necessary.
Work in multiple stores in the assigned district when needed.
