Full Time - Sales Associate - Outside Lawn & Garden - Day
About The Position
The Sales Associate works as a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, welcoming customers and helping them find products and services for home improvement projects. Associates listen to customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and handling, organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries, and may occasionally load merchandise. Department assignments depend on hiring needs and skillsets and may include Outside Lawn & Garden or other store departments. Associates may prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as mixing paint, cutting pipe or wood, or cutting drywall or blinds. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and exposure to noise and moving equipment. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
- Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
