Full Time - Sales Associate - Outside Lawn & Garden - Day
About The Position
The Sales Associate works in Lowe’s Outside Lawn & Garden department, welcoming customers and helping them find products and services for home improvement needs. The role involves interacting with customers throughout the day, answering questions, helping select and handle merchandise, occasionally loading merchandise, and organizing and replenishing products. Associates may also prepare merchandise for customer needs and help customers through shopping or checkout. Department assignments and daily duties may vary based on store hiring needs and skillsets. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions and using powered equipment after proper training.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as mixing paint, cutting pipe, wood, drywall, or blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
