Full Time - Sales Associate - Building Materials - Day
About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate in Building Materials, you combine customer service skills with care for people to help customers feel comfortable shopping at Lowe’s and solve home improvement challenges. You welcome customers, help them find and select products and services, respond to questions, and support their needs throughout the shopping experience. The role involves listening to customers, organizing merchandise, occasionally loading merchandise, and completing department-specific tasks. Associates may be cross-functionally trained in other store areas. The position may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise for customer needs, such as cutting and bundling wood or cutting drywall.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
