Sales Associate Store Opener
About The Position
As a Sales Associate/Cashier at Maplefields, you are the front line in the store’s relationship with customers. You will cash out customers, assist them with self-checkout, monitor and complete age-restricted sales properly, and perform a variety of tasks to keep the store clean, stocked, and ready to serve customers. Duties include preparing the store for early-morning coffee and breakfast traffic and, depending on the shift, the lunch and afternoon rush. Some cleaning and stocking may need to be completed during quieter periods because they can be difficult to do during busy daytime hours. Shifts vary by location according to business needs. Schedules are flexible and should be discussed with the manager, who will work with employees to find a schedule that provides their desired hours whenever possible.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist them in a timely and professional manner.
- Operate the cash register, accept payments, make change, maintain appropriate cash levels, and learn to count down and close a register at the end of a shift.
- Assist customers with the self-checkout process.
- Properly monitor and complete age-restricted sales.
- Keep coffee full and hot and maintain a clean coffee bar.
- Stock products, maintain product levels, and rotate stock so older products are sold first.
- Maintain and improve the store’s appearance, including keeping the register area clean and free of trash and clutter.
- Complete shift tasks assigned by management and other tasks as needed.
- Perform general property maintenance, including sweeping, weeding, shoveling, and salting.
- Operate a lottery terminal.
- Print and file required store-close reports.
- Prepare the store for early-morning coffee and breakfast traffic and, depending on the shift, the lunch and afternoon rush.
- Complete cleaning and stocking duties that may be difficult to perform during busy daytime hours.
