About The Position

The Sales Associate provides customers with a distinctive shopping experience through excellent service, effective selling techniques, and detailed product knowledge in a fast-paced specialty retail environment. The role supports sales goals, assists customers with specialized services and transactions, contributes to merchandise presentation, and helps maintain the store and stockroom. This is a part-time holiday position with night and weekend availability needs in the Pottery Barn Outlet in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of customer service and retail sales experience; specialty retail experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, and manage time.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Part-Time Flex associates must be available for at least two regularly scheduled weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday) and two weekday shifts (Monday through Thursday). Weekend availability must cover two separate days.
• Availability beyond the minimum schedule is required to be scheduled for 20 or more hours weekly, based on business needs.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a POS system.
• Ability to lift and mobilize items weighing up to 75 pounds using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide sincere, friendly, energetic customer service in accordance with World-Class service standards.
• Achieve established sales and contest goals and maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
• Assist customers with gift wrap, gift registry, merchandise location, catalog and special orders, back orders, charge sends, courier deliveries, and furniture orders.
• Use effective selling techniques to build multiple sales and increase productivity.
• Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge, including product features and benefits.
• Accurately and efficiently process register transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Assist with visual merchandise presentation, signage, and lighting.
• Maintain store cleanliness and upkeep, and straighten, clean, and help maintain the stockroom as needed.
• Process, ticket, and restock merchandise as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by management and comply with Company policies and procedures.
