About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and handling, and help ensure their needs are met. The role is in the Inside Lawn & Garden department and includes organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and preparing merchandise for customers. Duties can vary by department and may include helping customers shop or check out and cross-training in other store areas. The role involves working inside and outside in conditions that may include extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty weather. Associates may also encounter ongoing or intermittent noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Travel is not regularly required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
