About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you help customers feel comfortable while shopping by providing friendly service and helping them solve home improvement challenges. You welcome customers, help them find and select products and services, answer questions, handle merchandise, and ensure customer needs are met. Most of your time is spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise. Department assignments vary based on hiring needs and skillsets; this position is listed for Inside Lawn & Garden. Associates may also cross-train in other store areas and occasionally travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Work may involve indoor and outdoor conditions, varying temperatures and humidity, noise, and moving equipment or objects.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities needed for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- A trade-related certification relevant to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting or mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
