About The Position

The Sales Assistant supports the sales department in selling building materials, components, and complete lumber packages to local contractors, builders, and area lumber yards. The role works with estimators, purchasing, pricing coordinators, customers, and salespeople throughout the process from bidding through the sale. It provides sales support that allows salespeople to focus on selling, while offering the opportunity to learn the sales process and potentially progress to a full-time sales role. Success requires proven sales strategies, follow-through, and strong communication.

Requirements

At least five years of building materials sales or other related experience in new construction framing and building components.
Experience with blueprints.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively with the sales and estimating teams.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

Assist with the bid invitation process.
Receive communications from Sales or customers by phone, email, or text.
Download plans and review the required scope of work.
Provide design departments with clear, precise, and accurate information and/or plans.
Create projects in the ERP system.
Measure foundations as needed.
Create specification sheets for estimators.
Review pricing files for final pricing.
Create final proposals for SFR, MFR, and commercial projects.
Assist with customer relations concerning pricing, delivery, quality, and other problems in a timely and reasonable manner.
Receive customer service issues by phone, email, or text and log them in the CSI system for resolution.
Conduct job-site visits and gather information when needed.
Provide complete and accurate customer service reports for jobsite problems, customer changes, or sales changes.
Assist the Sales department with other tasks as needed.
