About The Position
J.J. Taylor Distributing, Florida Inc. is seeking a Sales Assistant to represent the company at supermarkets and other customer accounts. Sales Assistants follow assigned routes to deliver and set up promotional items and displays, stock shelves and coolers, rotate product using first-in, first-out (FIFO) standards, and help create displays that attract attention to the company’s beverages. The position works across locations including North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, North Port, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, and Englewood. The role is full-time, with a 5:00–6:00 AM start time. Weekend work is required, with two days off during the week. Pay averages $1,650–$1,750 biweekly, including commission and mileage reimbursement. Candidates must have a valid Florida Class E driver’s license, maintain the specified private passenger auto insurance with designated business usage, and have an acceptable driving record. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; previous merchandising, sales, promotions, or stocking experience is desired. The job involves traveling between accounts using the employee’s own transportation, unloading and carrying product, moving around retail premises, and climbing ladders when required. Work takes place in retail stores and/or warehouses and may involve extreme temperatures, fumes, noise, dust, and outdoor weather conditions, including wet or humid conditions. Employment offers are contingent on successfully completing a physical agility assessment, drug screen, and background check.
Requirements
- Valid Florida Class E driver’s license, insurance, and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to maintain $100,000/$300,000 private passenger auto insurance with designated business usage.
- Must use own transportation to travel between accounts.
- Ability to regularly unload product from a delivery vehicle and carry it into customer accounts; product averages 30 pounds and may weigh up to 49 pounds.
- Ability to move around account premises to inventory stock and display point-of-sale items.
- Ability to climb and work on ladders when required.

Responsibilities
- Stock shelves with company products according to the planogram, including coolers, warm shelves, displays, and non-alcoholic products; work backstock before new deliveries and follow FIFO rotation.
- Arrange displays in customer establishments and rotate products according to company standards.
- Distribute point-of-sale items, including neons, clocks, mirrors, posters, inflatables, tackers, glasses, cups, sample kits, case cards, core buff, and pennant string.
- Build and merchandise displays in assigned accounts, communicating with store sales representatives to obtain feedback on display layouts.
- Work with sales representatives to help place orders for certain accounts.
- Travel assigned routes between customer accounts and deliver and set up promotional items and displays.
