About The Position

Daikin Applied is seeking a Sales Applications Engineer to provide technical expertise on company products to sales representatives, supporting product selection and application for specific field requirements. The role also implements strategies for positioning products to compete effectively in the marketplace and collaborates with customers to demonstrate the value of the company’s product lines. Depending on experience, the position may provide leadership and direction within the marketing applications organization. The role is hybrid and based in Plymouth, Minnesota.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of Sales Applications Engineering experience.
• HVAC experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, accurate support to sales representative inquiries regarding special applications, systems, or pricing.
• Communicate with customers to evaluate and understand their needs, and assess processes to meet those needs.
• Process requests for modifications or options and provide general information not covered by published pricing.
• Keep informed about new products and competitive models in the marketplace.
• Analyze and propose modifications to current products and services to meet customer requirements.
• Prepare technical literature for internal and field application.
• Conduct product training for sales representatives and customers.
• Evaluate and propose improvements to product training processes.
• Provide leadership and direction within the marketing applications organization.
