About The Position

Jefferson Southern Corporation, a Tier One automotive supplier specializing in stamped and welded steel parts for the interior shell of vehicles, is seeking a Sales and Purchasing Coordinator. This role is crucial for maintaining optimal inventory levels, supporting purchasing and sales operations, and ensuring efficient logistics. The position involves collaborating with various teams to manage supplier and customer information, implement cost-saving initiatives, and coordinate import/export activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, negotiation, and customer relation skills, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to implement and maintain scanner and barcode procedures for accurate physical inventory counts.
  • Work with Purchasing and MRO management to ensure optimal inventory levels for all company supplies and consumables.
  • Provide support or execute order placement, delivery tracking, follow-up, and acknowledgment of receipt for the Purchasing team.
  • Liaise with other departments to facilitate the on-time delivery of procured items.
  • Implement and maintain 5S practices across the desk, MRO area, and Purchasing/Sales department server space.
  • Oversee the management of all customer and supplier information.
  • Initiate cost reduction through periodic purchase price reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to research alternative sources, substitute products, confirm quality, and investigate pricing for purchased items.
  • Coordinate import/export logistics from domestic and international suppliers, including collaboration and follow-up with freight forwarders.
  • Obtain up-to-date customer information through close communication and share it promptly within the company, or provide support for these tasks.
  • Supply information, quotes, and necessary documents in response to customer demands by set deadlines, or provide support for these tasks.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
