The Sales Account Manager, reporting into the VP, Pet Channel & eCommerce will drive execution and grow our Neighborhood Pet (NHP), Farm & Feed businesses and strengthen distributor training. This hands-on, highly field-based role requires regular travel to support regional accounts, distributor partners, and retail locations. The Sales Account Manager will own in-store execution, expand distribution, and build strong relationships across HQ accounts, store teams, and distributor partners, serving as a key link between the field and internal teams to ensure consistent, high-quality execution. Success in this role means growing distribution, improving retail execution, and delivering consistent sales growth across the territory.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in large CPG with natural or pet channel experience strongly preferred
~50–70% national travel with significant time in the field
Strong work ethic with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset and ability to work autonomously.
Ability to build relationships quickly and communicate effectively at the store and distributor level.
Basic analytical skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Nielsen, Sales force, or Power BI.
High level of ownership, accountability, and desire to learn and grow within the organization.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of Neighborhood Pet and Farm & Feed accounts, optimizing assortment and placement to drive sales velocity and support new store acquisition and expansion.
Build strong working relationships with store managers, regional contacts, and distributor partners, and train distributor reps and store teams on Freshpet products and merchandising standards.
Audit stores regularly for compliance with planograms (POG), in-stock levels, and chiller conditions, resolving execution gaps such as out-of-stocks, voids, and merchandising concerns.
Partner with sales, marketing, and operations to align retail strategies and execution, proactively resolving issues and sharing insights to improve processes and performance.
Use tools such as Nielsen, Power BI, and internal reporting to track distribution, velocity, and in-stock KPIs, sharing field insights to improve retail conditions.
