About The Position

Great Western Dining Service is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Salad Bar Prep/Attendant for its university location. The role provides customer service while preparing and serving food and beverages in a fast-paced environment. The attendant works collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to support distinctive dining experiences and efficient service.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Continuous walking or other mobility for up to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and pull, and frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in food preparation or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble fresh salads and toppings according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Keep the salad bar clean and organized, regularly restocking ingredients and supplies.
• Store food items properly and comply with food safety regulations.
• Help customers understand salad options and ingredients and accommodate special requests.
• Monitor food quality and freshness and discard items that do not meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to provide timely, efficient service during peak hours.
• Participate in regular training on food safety practices and customer service techniques.
