About The Position

Waabi is seeking a Safety and Systems Technical Program Manager to drive execution of safety and systems engineering development efforts for its autonomous vehicle platforms. The role ensures safety assessments, system architectures, and verification and validation processes—including simulation and real-world testing—are delivered rigorously and efficiently. The TPM translates technical milestones into centralized plans, streamlines communication across engineering leads, and uses modern AI tools to reduce administrative overhead. The position coordinates Safety, Security, and Systems plans with other functional areas and the organization’s feature introduction roadmap. It provides program tracking and executive reporting across assessments, platforms, and behavioral competencies; supports test leads in executing verification and validation; and applies systems engineering principles to ensure requirements have full test coverage. The TPM also coordinates Production Readiness Reviews and related artifacts for driverless deployment decisions, aligns continuous software evaluation deliverables with product maturity and deployment phases, and establishes issue tracking and resolution processes. The role works across distributed, cross-functional engineering teams in a safety-critical autonomous transportation environment. Waabi provides competitive compensation, equity awards, and country-specific benefits.

  • Direct experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or another safety-critical environment spanning hardware, software, and systems.
  • Strong technical fluency in systems engineering, safety assurance, and requirements management.
  • Hands-on experience with program tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Strong inclination to use modern AI solutions to streamline operational tracking and accelerate critical decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including summarizing complex technical status for leadership and facilitating working-level reviews.
  • BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Technical Program Managers across the company to align Safety, Security, and Systems plans with other functional areas and the feature introduction roadmap.
  • Consolidate project timelines, Jira tracking boards, and status updates into a centralized master plan, using AI tools such as Claude to synthesize information and reduce manual work for engineering leads.
  • Provide executive reporting on Safety, Security, and Systems tasks, deliverables, and resources across assessments, platforms, and behavioral competencies.
  • Track verification and validation execution in simulation and real-world testing, supporting test leads and applying systems engineering principles to ensure requirements receive full test coverage.
  • Organize driverless deployment decisions through Production Readiness Reviews and coordinate the delivery of safety and security artifacts to meet quality gates and timelines.
  • Align continuous software evaluation activities and ensure Safety, Security, and Systems deliverables are suited to product maturity and deployment phases.
  • Establish issue burndown tracking and serve as a central liaison to route process, anomaly, and system performance issues to stakeholders and drive them to resolution.
