PT Safety Support Associate - Hollywood Inn Express LAX (5867)
About The Position
The Safety Support Associate is part of PATH’s Interim Housing Team and helps maintain a safe environment for staff, program participants, and visitors at the Hollywood Inn Express LAX interim housing site in Inglewood. The role involves monitoring the site and grounds, building rapport with participants to support safety, and providing assistance during crises. The position follows low-barrier guidelines, provides direct client services including harm reduction support, and helps ensure access to needed supplies. This is a part-time, non-exempt position scheduled Friday and Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The listed pay range is $21.71 to $26.36 per hour, with placement based on relevant experience.
Requirements
- Employment eligibility verification.
- Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training.
- Successfully complete a tuberculosis test, background screening, and drug test as a condition of hire.
- All levels of experience and education are welcome.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience working with vulnerable populations, in security, and/or in de-escalation or nonviolent crisis intervention.
Responsibilities
- Help ensure the overall safety of the interim housing site through observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement.
- Coordinate with the onsite case management team to provide support to the site.
- Coordinate with contracted security agencies, if applicable, to support site safety.
- Conduct regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds, and communicate observed discrepancies or concerns.
- Assist the Associate Director with drafting written documentation and correspondence regarding site safety and security.
- Work with supervisors and the case management team to respond to security or crisis situations using nonviolent crisis intervention, verbal de-escalation, and a team approach.
- Provide direct client services, including harm reduction support, and help ensure participants can access needed supplies.
