What you will be doing The Safety Superintendent plays a critical role in ensuring safety systems are effective, sustainable, and operationally owned while supporting a culture where leaders are accountable for safety performance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Senior Safety Manager and supports site-wide safety, compliance, and risk control initiatives. This role serves as a strategic safety resource focused on program oversight, compliance, operational partnership, and leadership development. This plays a critical role in ensuring safety systems are effective, sustainable, and operationally owned while supporting a culture where leaders are accountable for safety performance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement This position will be based in Auburn, WA.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent safety leadership experience
  • Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local safety, health, environmental, and worker's compensation regulations.
  • Position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, good work ethic, and a passion for high quality workmanship.
  • Knowledge and understanding of workers’ compensation process, and industrial best practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent PC skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Strong communication, auditing, and leadership coaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency and business orientation.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule as operational needs require.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation, maintenance, and monitor adherence of safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor site safety performance metrics, trends, and leading/lagging indicators.
  • Identify program gaps and partner with operations leadership on sustainable corrective measures.
