About The Position

The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for the overall security of hotel guests and assets and monitors assigned patrol areas. The role responds to alarms, medical calls, and other incidents; conducts investigations; documents events; and helps identify and address immediate safety issues. The officer maintains confidentiality and ensures shift-to-shift information is communicated accurately.

The position also supports the company’s image and vision, responsible use of financial resources, ongoing training and associate development, continuous improvement of operations, future company projects, and an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

• Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, or another combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Possess required valid professional credentials if required by state or local regulations.
• Valid CPR/AED and first aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving background/criminal history record.
• Effective communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the property as required and ensure the security of hotel guests and assets.
• Respond as the property’s first responder to alarms, medical calls, and other incidents, maintaining confidentiality on sensitive issues.
• Conduct detailed internal investigations into incidents and provide detailed, objective reports for each shift or incident.
• Detect and resolve immediate safety issues; respond to incident scenes and act as an emergency first responder when required.
• Maintain accurate notes and logs, and communicate pass-on information to the next shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain the company image and vision statement.
