About The Position

Lifespace Communities is hiring a Safety & Security Officer for The Craig in Amarillo, Texas. The role supports a secure and safe community for residents, team members, guests, and vendors through routine patrols, emergency response, safety equipment oversight, and accurate recordkeeping. It also includes light maintenance, resident transportation, package and mail delivery, and guest and vehicle assistance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two to three years of applicable experience.
State-issued driver's license with a driving record clear of infractions as defined by current insurance mandates.

Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled rounds inside and outside the building to maintain a secure environment.
Schedule and ensure fire and disaster drills are conducted on each shift, maintaining accurate and detailed logs.
Maintain security records, including safety inspections, equipment repair needs, unusual circumstances, and service requests.
Ensure safety equipment is in good working order.
Respond to fire alarms and emergency calls and notify appropriate team members as needed.
Maintain a working knowledge of life safety systems.
Complete a daily guard report for the shift, documenting occurrences and ensuring accurate information is shared between shifts.
Ensure guests, team members, residents, and vendors use appropriate entrances and exits, and request identification as appropriate.
Perform light maintenance as needed or requested, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging toilets or drains.
Transport residents and/or team members on or off the property as needed or requested.
Deliver packages to residents and distribute in-house mail.
Greet residents and guests, assist with luggage and packages, and park and retrieve resident vehicles.
