About The Position

The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety for structural steel/rigging safety operations for the airport terminal construction at IAH. This is an 8-week contract position located in Houston, TX, starting on June 1st. The role involves ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture.

Requirements

• OSHA 510 certification
• 7 years of construction safety experience
• Background specifically in rigging
• Strong heavy industrial, rigging, and steel erection experience
• Confident in reviewing lift plans and demonstrating rigging knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• In-depth understanding of EHS principles and construction safety regulations
• Ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards and best practices

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with mechanical construction safety, particularly underground piping operations

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across multiple project sites
• Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions
• Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires
• Partner with project management and field teams to identify and mitigate safety risks proactively
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, and compliance records
• Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements
• Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project team
