About The Position
The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety for structural steel/rigging safety operations for the airport terminal construction at IAH. This is an 8-week contract position starting on June 1st.
Requirements
- OSHA 510 certification
- 7 years of construction safety experience
- Background specifically in rigging
- Strong heavy industrial, rigging, and steel erection experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
Nice To Haves
- Candidate must be confident in reviewing lift plans and demonstrating rigging knowledge, as the client will test this during the interview.
- Familiarity with mechanical construction safety, particularly underground piping operations
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across multiple project sites
- Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions
- Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires
- Partner with project management and field teams to identify and mitigate safety risks proactively
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, and compliance records
- Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project team
Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $52/hr (Local)
- Completion Bonus: $150/month
- Pay Frequency: Weekly
