About The Position

This Safety Manager role is crucial for ensuring that every worker on the jobsite, including self-perform crews and subcontractors, goes home safely. The company has a strong safety record, recognized by OSHA SHARP accreditation and national safety excellence awards. This position requires a proactive leader who can identify and address hazards before they lead to incidents, ensuring corrections are made across diverse crews. It is a leadership role focused on protecting people and the project, rather than just compliance and paperwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a safety-related discipline, or a minimum of 3 years of construction safety management experience.
  • Safety management on commercial or large industrial projects of $50 million or higher, strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 500 Authorized Instructor.
  • Technical awareness in environmental management, including storm water pollution prevention planning (SWPPP) and administration.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple local job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Own safety performance across assigned jobsites in the Atlanta or Raleigh market.
  • Make the safety standard visible in the field.
  • Build a site presence where crews self-correct due to understanding and trusting the safety leader.
  • Ensure self-perform work and all subcontractors adhere to the same safety expectations.
  • Run the Construction Safety Management Program on the ground.
  • Lead job hazard analysis and site safety work plans before work begins.
  • Convert incident data into actionable insights for leadership.
  • Drive recordable incident performance to better than company and regional benchmarks.
  • Lead job hazard analysis, site safety work plans, and public hazard analysis before site activity begins.
  • Close site safety inspection findings within the correction window.
  • Stand up a contractor orientation process for a multi-lingual workforce.
  • Convert workers' compensation and general liability claim reviews and inspection data into management-level loss-control reporting.
  • Represent loss-control performance expectations in pre-bid and post-award meetings.
