About The Position

The Safety Manager develops and implements a comprehensive safety program, ensuring OSHA compliance and fostering a culture of safety. Responsibilities include conducting safety training (classroom, hands-on, and field-based), mentoring employees, and supporting project teams with safety planning and hazard analysis.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Construction Safety Manager (required)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and technical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within the state.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years in heavy civil/infrastructure (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (preferred)
  • OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer, CHST minimum, or CSP (preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support health and safety programs.
  • Conduct monthly safety assessments and field jobsite visits.
  • Assist with pre-project planning, emergency action plans, and pre-task plans for high-risk activities.
  • Provide technical assistance on safety technology and participate in trade groups and safety committees.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses for incidents and manage workers’ compensation claims.
  • Monitor injuries and illnesses, maintain training records, and develop weekly Toolbox Talks and annual training calendars.
