About The Position

The Safety Intern supports safety initiatives at Kenworth Truck Company, including ergonomic assessments, implementation of improvements, incident investigations, job hazard analysis, safety housekeeping, and safety improvement workshops. The role contributes to developing an ergonomic program for current and future use.

Requirements

• Be a current student at an accredited college or university.
• Have good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to formulate and communicate abstract concepts clearly.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using personal computers and contemporary office productivity software.
• Meet the physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ergonomic assessments throughout the facility.
• Help implement changes based on assessments.
• Assist with accident and incident investigations.
• Support and contribute to the Job Hazard Analysis program.
• Help develop a strong ergonomic program for current and future use.
• Evaluate safety housekeeping audit findings and recommend changes.
• Assist with safety improvement workshops.
