About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join the ATL Construction Management Partners team during construction of a $6.4 billion project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The role coordinates and monitors contractor safety and security programs, supports compliance with contractual requirements, identifies deficiencies, and follows up on corrective actions. The position is on a day-shift schedule and is part of Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure team.

Requirements

College degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
10 years of previous experience as a Safety Officer.
OSHA 30-hour training.
Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification.

Airport construction experience.

Responsibilities

Review each prime contractor’s Safety and Security Plans and Hazardous Communications Manuals.
Coordinate contractor site-specific safety programs.
Plan strategies for monitoring contractors’ safety compliance during daily construction activities.
Identify deficiencies and pursue corrective action.
Facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action.
Develop, maintain, and execute procedures to observe and verify construction safety and security activities.
Maintain retrievable documentation as evidence of safety and security implementation.
Follow up with contractors to ensure safety and security program deficiencies are corrected within a reasonable timeframe.
Coordinate with the Construction Manager and project team on contractual safety and security requirements and required contractor corrective actions.
Coordinate safety inspections and monitoring with representatives of the City’s Risk Manager, ATLNext Safety Manager, and others as required.
Prepare weekly reports on observations, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
