About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join the ATL Construction Management Partners team during construction of a $6.4 billion project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The role coordinates and monitors contractors’ construction safety and security programs, identifies deficiencies, supports incident investigation and corrective action, and maintains records demonstrating safety and security implementation. The position follows a day-shift schedule and is part of Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure team.

Requirements

College degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
10 years of previous experience as a Safety Officer.
OSHA 30-hour training.
Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification.

Responsibilities

Review contractors’ Safety and Security Plans and Hazardous Communications Manuals submitted by each prime contractor.
Coordinate contractors’ site-specific safety programs and plan how to monitor safety compliance during daily construction activities.
Identify deficiencies and determine corrective actions.
Facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action.
Develop, maintain, and execute procedures for observing and verifying construction safety and security activities.
Maintain retrievable documentation as evidence of safety and security implementation.
Follow up with contractors to ensure safety and security program deficiencies are corrected within a reasonable timeframe.
Coordinate with the Construction Manager and project team on contractual safety and security requirements and contractor corrective actions.
Coordinate safety inspections and monitoring with representatives of the City’s Risk Manager, ATLNext Safety Manager, and others as required.
Prepare weekly reports on observations, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
