About The Position

The Safety Coordinator position provides direct support to the Safety Director in achieving Safety and Loss Control objectives, minimizing risk of job-related accidents, monitoring operations to eliminate hazardous activities, and enforcing safety policies to promote occupational health and safety (OSH) awareness. Other duties required are assisting and resolving property damage and liability claims. This role serves as a representative of the Safety Program in the field and at our branches throughout Florida, facilitating positive interactions with employees and managers while simultaneously asserting themselves as a safety authority. The coordinator will conduct jobsite assessments and facility inspections, promote and reinforce safety culture through frequent interactions, and assist with the implementation of safety incentives and leadership programs. Additionally, the role involves assisting with fleet management, driver training, online training programs, and the production and distribution of Safety Program materials. Support is also provided to the Safety Director in the management of claims and the procurement and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment. The position also issues bonus deductions and requires completion of assigned safety training and/or certification. Travel throughout Florida is required.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred. Associates Degree plus two year of relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Professional certifications / credentials considered.
