About The Position

The Safety Coordinator supports the daily management, administration, security, and operation of the Safety Department. The position assists with the Safety Management System (SMS), including its computer systems, implementation, and development, and supports analytical projects assigned by the SMS Manager. The role also provides technical support for Reliance and helps prepare analyses, reports, presentations, and statistical data to keep SMS groups and the administrator informed.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently with little daily supervision.
• Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English; write routine reports and correspondence; and give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
• Work experience, preferably in 14 CFR Part 121 air carrier operations or Part 135 operations, in training, quality control, maintenance, operations, safety, or security, or a combination of these.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including database and spreadsheet programs.
• Proven project management and analytical skills.
• Proficient verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude toward teamwork, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to assist managers, directors, and staff with a high level of professionalism.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in support of Reliance and the SMS.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Thorough understanding of Federal OSHA, State OSHA, and airport safety regulations.
• Experience in airline or military operations.
• Basic computer programming and statistical methods experience.
• Previous experience maintaining and enhancing corporate safety standards and safe operation practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administering, facilitating, monitoring, implementing, and developing the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Assist with risk-based analysis, accident prevention, and accident reduction activities.
• Assist with developing and implementing software systems used by the Kalitta Air Safety Department.
• Use Reliance to support data collection for voluntary programs involving Reliance.
• Provide technical support for the use and development of Reliance across participating departments.
• Assist in preparing management trending analyses and charts.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and statistical data to inform SMS groups and the administrator about program status.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
