About The Position

The Safety Coordinator helps support a strong, proactive safety culture by working directly with supervisors, leads, and employees to identify and address safety concerns throughout the facility. This position is highly floor-focused and requires active visibility in the production environment, with at least 80% of working time spent on the production floor conducting observations, supporting employee communication, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring corrective actions are completed timely.

Requirements

  • Previous safety experience required.
  • Strong computer skills, including comfort with safety documentation, reporting, and data entry.
  • Willing and available to work either 1st or 2nd shift.
  • Able to spend at least 80% of working time on the production floor.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Accountable, organized, proactive, and comfortable holding others accountable for safe work practices.
  • New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment.
  • The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.

Responsibilities

  • Spend a minimum of 80% of working time actively present on the production floor.
  • Conduct safety observations, inspections, and audits.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Assist with incident investigations and documentation.
  • Support safety training, huddles, and employee communication.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work directly with supervisors, leads, and employees to address safety concerns.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Follow up on corrective actions and ensure safety concerns are addressed timely.
