About The Position

SafeCare® Parent Educators provide a voluntary, free, evidence-based in-home parent education program for caregivers of children ages 0 to 5 in Tulsa County and surrounding areas. The program aims to help ensure children have nurturing, safe, and healthy home environments and reduce the risk of abuse and neglect through positive parenting education, family intervention planning, parenting skills training, intensive case management, and direct support. Parent Educators visit each assigned family weekly for one hour, typically supporting families for 9–12 months. They teach child development, positive parenting, home safety and health awareness, healthy relationships, and parent-child interaction skills. Services are delivered using a trauma-informed, strength-based approach, while staff build positive relationships with families and community partners. The role manages a caseload that builds to 12 families within six months of hire, completes assessments and plans, makes and follows up on referrals, and maintains timely electronic records. The position also requires SafeCare® training, coaching, observations, and certification activities. It is a full-time, exempt position with a typical Monday–Friday schedule of approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; availability to extend services until 6:00 p.m. at least one night per week is required when appropriate to meet client needs.
