About The Position

Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) is a nonprofit human service organization serving people throughout Fairfield County. Its Parents as Teachers (PAT) program is an evidence-based home-visiting model that supports young children’s health, safety, development, and readiness to learn. The program provides parents with child-development knowledge and parenting support, helps identify developmental delays and health issues, aims to prevent child abuse and neglect, and promotes school readiness. Services include individual home visits, monthly group meetings, developmental screenings, and connections to community resources. The certified Parent Educator implements the PAT model with families in Norwalk and Bridgeport, using the PAT Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways. Through ongoing home visits and structured visit plans, the educator partners with families and supports parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being. FCA currently offers a hybrid working model. The role includes home visits in the community and collaborative meetings and trainings within Connecticut. Evening and weekend work may be needed, and schedule flexibility is required.
