About The Position

Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) is a nonprofit human service organization serving people throughout Fairfield County. The Parents as Teachers (PAT) program is an evidence-based home visiting model that supports young children’s health, safety, development, and school readiness. It provides parents with child development knowledge and parenting support, promotes early detection of developmental delays and health issues, helps prevent child abuse and neglect, and supports children’s readiness for school. The Parent Educator uses the PAT Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways to partner with families in Norwalk and Bridgeport. Through ongoing home visits, group meetings, developmental screenings, and connections to community resources, the educator supports parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being. Home visits use structured visit plans and guided planning tools. The role works under the supervision of the PAT supervisor, Assistant Director of Adoption & Early Childhood, and Director of Child & Family Development.
