About The Position
The Safe Harbor Program Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations and delivery of Safe Harbor's grief support services. This role assists with family intake and follow-up, facilitates peer grief support groups, coordinates school-based grief programming, recruits and trains volunteers, and helps plan Camp Charlie. The coordinator also supports community outreach, donor and philanthropy engagement, program communications, curriculum updates, evaluation activities, and other administrative and operational needs in collaboration with the Lead Program Coordinator.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Human Services or High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of professional experience in group facilitation, bereavement services or behavioral health support.
Responsibilities
- Conducts initial intake, orientation and follow-up with new, returning and current families.
- Facilitates peer grief support groups, including at least one evening group per week.
- Coordinates school outreach programming and works with part-time facilitators.
- Provides school-based grief groups and related education/support as needed.
- Oversees Safe Harbor Volunteers.
- Coordinates volunteer recruiting and onboarding with the Volunteer Office.
- Plans and facilitates ongoing training and volunteer support.
- Serves as a co-coordinator of camp including family, buddy and volunteer registration, and planning and implementation of activities.
- Participates in program updates and curriculum revision.
- Contributes to reports, surveys and evaluation activities.
- Supports community and donor presentations.
- Collaborates with program Lead in overall operation of Safe Harbor and assists with other program activities and responsibilities necessary to support effective service delivery.
