The S-STEM Peer Mentor position involves providing advice, support, and knowledge to an assigned mentee over the fall and spring semesters. Mentors are expected to dedicate 10 hours per week to their mentee, utilizing methods such as face-to-face interaction, email, or calls/texts, with a preference for face-to-face meetings. Additionally, mentors must attend a half-day training session before the fall semester (or spring as needed) and participate in bi-weekly 1-hour meetings throughout the academic year. This is a two-year position, and mentors will be matched with mentees based on their STEM major.
