About The Position

This is a full-time, non-safety sensitive position where the Rug Assistant supports rug sales associates in the selling process. Responsibilities include assisting customers by flipping rugs for viewing, loading and unloading rugs from vehicles, and occasionally traveling to customer homes to present additional rugs. The role also involves maintaining a clean and presentable rug department, straightening furniture and accessories, and providing customer service by assisting with loading purchased merchandise. Any other duties as requested by management are also part of the role.

Requirements

Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise of 50 lbs
Ability to communicate effectively with team members
Positive attitude when working with customers
Knowledge of employment and safety procedures
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion
Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 20 lbs constantly to move objects

Responsibilities

Assisting rug sales associates in the selling process by flipping rugs so the customer can view the pattern
Loading vehicles with rugs, unloading vehicles with rugs
Occasionally travel with Sales Associate to customers home to present additional rugs inside the customer’s home
Maintain a clean and well-presented department in the rug area
Straighten and make furniture and accessories presentable within the rug department
Provides customer service by assisting customers in loading purchased merchandise as needed
Perform any other duties as requested by management
