About The Position

Velcro USA Inc. is hiring a Ruff Slitter at its Somersworth, New Hampshire manufacturing facility. The role slits material to the width specified on work orders, following standard operating procedures and maintaining safety, quality, delivery, and housekeeping standards. The employee completes production paperwork, meets takt time and established production standards, and performs other assigned duties. Training will take place at the Velcro Manchester, New Hampshire location for three weeks. This is an onsite, hands-on manufacturing position involving machine operation, material handling, packaging, quality checks, and collaboration with a team. The role requires a full-time presence, excellent attendance, and willingness to cross-train. Overtime, including extended shifts and weekends, may be required. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and interpret written instructions.
Ability to complete basic paperwork and perform data entry.
Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Ability and willingness to cross-train in other functions as required or requested.
Ability to work overtime, including extended shifts and weekends, as required or requested.

Responsibilities

Operate the slitting machine in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Slit material to the width specified on the work order and optimize the machine for the proper cut length.
Tag and remove out-of-specification material.
Load and unload equipment and materials, including wide material to be slit, finished material on spools, waste, and the slitting die.
Package rolls from the slitting process for customer delivery.
Complete required paperwork neatly and accurately, perform data entry, and analyze Xbar R charts.
Measure parts and follow standard quality requirements.
Maintain established production standards and perform to takt time.
Maintain safety, quality, delivery, and cleanliness standards in the work environment.
Contribute to individual and department goals and objectives.
Participate in safety initiatives as needed, including rotating safety committee participation, risk assessments, exposure hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.
Promptly report safety incidents or near-misses and contribute to investigations.
Work collaboratively with others and cross-train in other functions as required or requested.
Attend three weeks of training at the Velcro Manchester, New Hampshire location.
Work overtime, including extended shifts and weekends, when required or requested.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
